Safety
Safety is our number one concern at Team Flag Gear. Our design makes the game much safer, as the tendency for a defender to grab at the flag belt and bring the ball carrier to the ground no longer exists. Beyond take-down injuries, there is a significant number incidences involving people injuring fingers and thumbs using the old school D-ring belt loops. Liability and insurance issues alone are a compelling reason to sport Team Flag Gear.

By eliminating the antiquated flag belts, Team Flag Gear products have virtually eliminated the risks of injury to players caused by the equipment (flag belts):

  • Broken/Dislocated Fingers – Fingers caught in D-ring or in flag belt tail
  • Ripped Fingernails – Fingernails caught in D-ring or in flag belt tail

Sportsmanship
By eliminating the antiquated flag belts Team Flag Gear products promote fair play and sportsmanship by eliminating the purposeful or inadvertent ability, desire or interest to utilize the flag belt equipment and flag placement to gain an unfair advantage during games (flag shielding).

  • Players are afforded the opportunity to compete completely based on their talent, ability and coaching as all players have equal flag and belt placement throughout every play of every game

Traditional flag belts, particularly for younger leagues, can be a huge time waste. Leagues everywhere require players, coaches, and parents to show up early for games to allow time to tie flag belts prior to the game starting. As coaches ourselves, this point hits really close to home. Once the new system is implemented into a league, game day efficiency increases up to 40%. The kids show up, put their own flags on, and the game begins. It is that simple.

Savings
Savings is a key advantage to Team Flag Gear’s new design, however, it requires a broader understanding of the costs involved. Compared directly to traditional flag belts, our new design is more expensive. But that is comparing apples to oranges. If one were to measure the cost of the flag belts, AND short/pant uniforms, Team Flag Gear’s new system is much cheaper than both items combined. Typically, a pair of football shorts or pants can cost upward of $20 alone. Add another $3-$4 dollars for flag belts, and you can see why Team Flag Gear’s prices are far more affordable on the whole.
